First Sled Run of the Season

The first sled run of the season is in the books! Cleo and yearling Masey took the lead for a solid 15 miles, with Pretty, Garrett, and Oliver rounding out the team. Everyone did a great job, and it was exciting to finally be back on the sled after months of training with the ATV. There’s just something special about that first run- it’s a good reminder of why I love this sport.

It’s starting to feel like winter is here, even though we’ll need more snow before the main team can join in on sled runs. For now, it’s all about getting back into the rhythm and watching the dogs settle into their roles. The trail was beautiful, and the energy from the dogs made it even better. I look forward to seeing how the rest of the season shapes up!
